Engineering is our hope and our future. There isn’t a shortage of jobs, just a shortage of qualified people. There is a demand for qualified engineers and technicians capable of solving real-world problems using math, science, and technology.

This program is for students who are creative and enjoy working with their hands to produce usable products to meet consumer and business needs. Starting with their product idea, students use Auto-CAD to draw a blueprint to produce a prototype using state-of-the art machine tools (CNC milling and turning centers) applying the concepts of robotics to design analysis. A senior project gives students the opportunity to work as part of a team guided by a community mentor to research, design and construct a solution to an engineering problem. Students will learn how to do blueprint animation and presentations using Inventor software.

Mechanical, electrical, architectural, and civil engineering are a few employment fields available to students with the skills and certification from the Career Center Engineering Technology program.

By successfully completing the Project Lead the Way requirements, students may be eligible to earn articulated credits towards the Engineering Technology or Technology Education program at Fairmont State College.

Requirements:
General CCTE Admission Requirements Interview with Instructor during 10th Grade Visitation or scheduled at a later date.
