Fire and Rescue is a one-year completer program open to junior and seniors interested in a fire and rescue service career pathway.
The Fire and Rescue program was developed to provide a means to train high school students in the art of fire fighting and emergency medical technology.  Administered by the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute through the Allegany County Center for Career and Technical Education, this training will provide students with educational skills that prepare them for entry into the field of Emergency Services.  Upon completion, students will be qualified to apply for National Certification at the Firefighter II level and be eligible to obtain a National Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician Basic.

Requirements
Students must meet CCTE general admission requirements.
The student must be at least 16 years of age by the first day of school.
Must be a member of OR seeking membership into an Allegany County fire or rescue company.
The requirements for membership vary from company to company.
