The Board of Education's summer hours are as follows:  M-Th 7:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. and CLOSED on Fridays.  A four-day work week will be in effect from June 17, 2013, through August 16, 2013.


Foreign Language

The Foreign Language program in Allegany County provides a world language exploratory experience for students in middle school, grades 7 and 8. Students investigate and experience the basic instruction and cultural elements of Spanish, French, Latin, German, Japanese, and Italian.

Students have the elective opportunity to participate in four levels of French, Spanish, and Latin in the high school programs. The curriculum is based on the state and national standards using the “5 C’s”: Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities.
