Stadium Campaigns

Greenway Avenue Stadium Project

For the past seventy years, Greenway Avenue Stadium has been a landmark in Allegany County, a source of community pride and a showcase for the Fort Hill Sentinels and the Allegany Campers. A recent assessment has shown that there are a number of structural and cosmetic issues in need of immediate attention so that the stadium is available to serve students and the community well into the future.

As a result of existing capital improvement funds being dedicated to current and future school projects, a committee has been formed to raise funds for the restoration of the stadium. The committee is confident that area residents, businesses, alumni, community leaders, interested parents and concerned citizens will assist in preserving the tradition of Greenway Avenue Stadium with their financial support in this capital campaign.

Mountain Ridge Stadium Project

During the design phase of Mountain Ridge High School, various members of the Board of Education met with architects to design athletic facilities that would complement the new state-of-the-art high school. As excitement builds during the construction of the new school, the original plans for the stadium have been modified to successfully complete funding for the school.

A committee has been formed to lead the construction of the stadium and thier goal is to raise the necessary funds to make this project a reality. They are confident that area residents, businesses, alumni, community leaders, interested parents and concerned citizens will help financially support this campaign so that Mountain Ridge High school will soon become a source of community pride.

Naming Opportunities

In keeping with recent practice established by professional sport franchises and collegiate athletic programs, the Board of Education of Allegany County has agreed to award naming rights for targeted areas in both stadium projects to responsible individuals, organizations or corporate sponsors interested in making a significant contribution to the campaigns. Please note that most pledges to the campaigns can be made over a five year period. To view the list of naming opportunities for both Greenway Avenue and Mountain Ridge, click on the links to the right.

Interested parties should contact Mia Perlozzo at the Board of Education at 301-759-2092 for more information on participation in either project.  All contributions are tax deductible and can be made payable to the Allegany County Public Schools Foundation c/o Mt.
